Hi. My name is Tim Hicks and I am an eclectic collection of interests all rolled up into one human being.
In my life, I have been (or currently am) a professional wrestling personality, an author, publisher, evangelical Christian minister, web designer, PC tech, accountant, and a few other things that have slipped my mind. I have a wide variety of interests and I tend to follow where they lead.
One of my passions is helping people achieve their dreams and helping them to realize their true self worth. That probably stems back to the poor self-image I had as a child and my own struggles to overcome it.
Here I am as hated pro wrestling manager, Dr. Thom Parks.
NEVER SAY “YOU CAN’T” TO ME
Ever since I was born, I heard people place limitations on me. Since I was born with a collection of challenges, such as being legally blind in one eye and having a badly deformed hip, I’ve been told that there are things I simply cannot do. Heck, they even told my parents that I wouldn’t live long enough to leave the hospital. I guess they were wrong.
For a time, I bought into these “limitations” that people placed on me. I believed them. Then, I discovered that God had not placed these limitations on me, man had. I decided right then and there that I would not let other people tell me what I am capable of. One of my goals was to prove the “naysayers” wrong as often as I could.
When people said I could never be involved in athletics, I got into the professional wrestling business and had a pretty good career as a referee, manager, TV announcer, promoter and (sometimes) wrestler. I did that for over twenty years.
When people laughed because I wanted to become an evangelist, that was OK. I did it anyway. Since 2000, I’ve had the pleasure of preaching to congregations from many different Christian denominations. I’ve preached the Gospel to hardened death-row inmates. I’ve had the joy of performing weddings for friends and I’ve had the sacred honor of preaching the funeral service for my mother and for my father-in-law.
Some people laughed when I told them that I wanted to write a book. They said, “What do you know about writing? You can’t do that.” Maybe I can’t, but I did. When I encountered publishers who were unwilling to take my book “as is,” my wife and I formed an LLC and started our own publishing company.
If I could imprint one message on the hearts of those with whom I share this planet, it would be this:
You are not limited by the words and opinions of others, only by the limitations you place upon yourself. If you encounter a roadblock, look for ways to go around it. If necessary, go through it!
MY HOME BUSINESS TIMELINE
I have always been interested in having my own business. I mean it. This goes back to when I was a child. As a boy, I used to sell things to make money. I sold flower and vegetable seeds, greeting cards, GRIT Newspapers, business cards and pretty much anything else I could.
When I was 16, out neighbor (Paul) introduced me to network marketing when he talked to me about Amway. I really looked up to Paul and, if he said it was good, that was all I needed to know. I actually signed up before I ever actually saw the details of how the business worked. All it took was some money from my piggy bank and Momma’s signature on the agreement. Remember, I was only 16.

I learned so much during that time. I learned how to talk to people and how to build a business. The fact that Paul believed in me helped me start to break the bondage of poor self-esteem in which I was trapped.
We had some pretty good successes in that time.
As the years went by, we learned what works and what doesn’t. It is this knowledge which we wish to share with you.
